My mom and the dotted A'isha
Kitty tag me on this, and this tag shall not be missed.... here goes
1. She loves to nag aiyo.. 2 am in the morning also she will have something to nag about...Lucky, the nagging trait is passed to my second sister hohoho. I am saved...
2. She goes to school until standard two, but she can read well. She especially loves to read tabloid newspaper..asked her what happenned to erra and hans relationship, she is in the know. We kids think, if she ever finished school, she could be a professor, and she has the talent to nag, to be one nagging professor too.
3.She's 72 and still cook and wash her own baju. This is the case of... I don't trust the kids(hahaha us kids) to cook anything edible. Nonetheless, just yesterday my mom said, I took over her for the cooking talent.. Yippee!!! bow! bow! thank you.. thank you...Even though she never properly taught me how to cook.
4. My mom is what you called "Ratu Jalan", she and her elder sister Mak Long. Imagine, when we were little, she would leave us kids with dad, and she goes to kelantan or singapore shopping. She has travelled to several places (UK, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Mecca) and still has the desire to travel. Now, in her list are Hong Kong and Bandong, who promised her this trip huh? Jawab.. jawab...
5. And, maybe this is a trait of a typical old "chinese" lady (not stereotyping.. but I've seen several of my chinese friends mom who have this trait), mom also like to hoard things... her room is full of stuff.. the store is full of stuff too... I'm not sure this is due to hardship... hehehe I'm also like her... everything got sentimental value.
6. She used to sew our cloth. She went to Singer to learn how to sew.. I saw some sample of her embroidery works.. But her laziness overcomed her talent.. i remember once time she cut my baju for hari raya puasa.. and until the next raya puasa the baju still unfinished. HAHAHA
7.Oh ya. mom is the financial controller of the family... Not ours la (but I think she wishes that she is).. but when my dad was around... Very strict with money (not that we have plenty) We can easily ask money from dad.. with reason to buy book, surely dad will give money easily. Mom, on the other hand, very suspicious, and even if she gives us the money, she will ask for evidence that we really bought books. Hahahaha so if u wnt money to spent on sth else, ask money from dad and say to buy book.. no evidence needed.. To buy book ask from mom, and show her the book. CLEVER.........
8. I almost forgot that mom work hard to MEMBESARKAN (she did very well in her role to membesarkan our body) through selling various food goreng pisang, rojak, laksa and roti canai. Not all in one go la, at some stages in her life.. Mom said, we kids always pray for her stuff tak laku, so that we can have laksa or rojak later... yum yum.
